Story Time

🍅HARLEM GROWN 🍅is the picture book we all need right now! It’s the promise of a neighborhood project built on a scrappy old lot and it started with just one man (Tony) who had an idea. The kids joined in, to help. And together, they fixed a problem by making a farm.

Zines for Tweens!

I had so much fun co-hosting ✂ ZINES FOR TWEENS ✂ with Gina, the Children's Librarian at the Dobbs Ferry Public Library. Want to see what I made? Check out my stories this week for glimpses of the flash zine I made with some reeeeally creative young people.

Notes from the Newsroom

We’re hard at work on our next issue of THE LITTLE ENTERPRISE. This spring, HudCo is sponsoring Issue No.7! We have some exciting things in the works for little marketers & distributors thanks to this fun new partnership. (Thanks, HudCo!) ✂️🗞🌈🌱🎈🌸🎨✔️

…for Young Readers

When do you stop researching and start writing? As I begin anew with projects, I am looking back and pondering this tipping point. 👓

Significant Miscellany

Our local pop-up bookstore, 🌿PICTURE BOOK🌿, is a treasure. Sara Davidson Johns’ collection is artfully curated with a selection of beautiful and important books, including titles for young people.

🇺🇸THE NEXT PRESIDENT 🇺🇸by Kate Messner and illustrated by Adam Rex is an offering of hope in the face of a tricky truth. Maybe — just maybe — one day, *you* dear reader, will be our next President.

🔘MEDIA LITERACY 101🔘 is a resource I created for Teen Vogue readers a few years back, now updated it for 2021 to reflect the current state of this dark new chapter of conspiracy theories gone mainstream. Please share this guide to navigating an endless sea of misinformation with friends and family in your life: teens and grandmas alike.

Do you pin? Let’s hang out!
